Travel & adventure
I love to experience new cultures, places, and foods. In the past few years, I have been fortunate to travel far and frequently, mostly due to research conferences but partly on my own dime as well. So far, I have visited 5 continents (North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa) with Plutarch my travelling penguin, whom you'll see often in these photos. I've been able to knock some items off of my bucket list, including skydiving in the Swiss alps, snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, visiting an active volcano, seeing the 99% silica sand in the Whitsunday Islands, riding a camel on the beach, sliding down a wooden chute into the oldest operational salt mine in the world, spending a few nights in a German castle, and eating my weight in noodles in Japan. Have a favorite spot to visit? Feel free to share— I’m always looking for my next adventure!
